Just because Cozumel is not as large as Cancun or Playa Del Carmen, don't think for a minute that the streets roll up their carpets when darkness settles over the island! While it is true, just as with any city, some nights are quieter than others, without question the Cozumel bar and club scene is alive and happening now more so than ever!
 It used to be "back in the day" that there were very few party and dance clubs on the island at all so the choices about where to go were simple. Gringos and tourists typically hung at Carlos n Charlie's for dancing until they closed and then at Joe's for live band music afterward. The locals crowd always went to Neptuno and Scaramuche. But those days are long gone since Cozumel's growth these past few years has caused the nightlife scene to explode into a hip and happening scene where the streets come alive again after midnight with all sorts of music styles and venues!
 Both visitors and locals alike now have a multitude of party alternatives to keep them dancing and roaming the streets until the last doors close at 5am. No matter if you prefer a hip hop rock beat or the edgy rhythm of techno/new age music or the classic sound of Latin salsa and rumba, everyone can find a place to hang out these days that suits their mood.
 These days at any given venue there will be a mix of both locals and gringos partying and dancing. Most of the clubs still do not charge a cover and MANY offer "ladies night" and special promotional events.
Most of the bars and clubs are in the downtown area located not far from each other. You can easily get from one location to the other by walking, although to get to a few of them you may need to take a taxi. Cozumel is a very safe island. Walking around at night here is common and safe and you will see many people be out and about on foot! Normal safety precautions are all that are necessary.

The Hard Rock Café offers the best rock and the best food with live music, restaurant, bar and boutique. Located in the Park Royal Village Shopping Center, just across from the TMM/SSA International Pier, it's a fantastic place to go and watch the sunset, grab a nice snack or meal and have a cool, refreshing cocktail! TERRIFIC NACHOS HERE!! Also, constantly playing great music (obviously) and they have live music every Saturday night.

Let the good times roll here at Fat Tuesday! This bar and restaurant is a very relaxed feel, is a great spot for tourists, has a wide drink selection (but be ready, they pack a punch and are extremely generous portions) and has a nice menu selection of both American and Mexican snacks and entrees. You will also enjoy the great photo opportunities available inside and outside the restaurant and they play a very nice mix of pop, hip, rock and salsa music as you enjoy your cocktails, food and people watch!

This is another fun beach club with some of the most stunning views on the north west coast of the island! Located just north of Avenida Antonio Gonzales Fernandez (Airport Road) off Rafael E. Melgar located on the Playa Las Casita Beach that is directly across from the military base!
The main dining area has incredible views from the 2nd floor of the restaurant with additional seating available on the beach front under the main dining areas! This is a very popular spot for a quick snack and a nice alcoholic beverage to watch all the gorgeous Caribbean waters! Multi-cuisine with a focus on Mexican, but for those kids wanting a burger and fries, you can get that here also! Open late with live entertainment occasionally, this is definitely a nice spot to drop in, grab a cold beverage, have a snack or meal and enjoying the island breeze!

"Typical" cantinas are plentiful on the island however these do remain fairly "locals only" neighborhood establishments. Those adventurous travelers who have wandered back into the regular neighborhoods of Cozumel know that there is at least one cantina every block or two in some areas. Cantinas generally won't "turn away" at the door some one wanting a beer�but just keep in mind that patrons are very local and typically not bi-lingual. Also remember that cantinas close the doors at 6pm so they are not options for late late night partying and dancing.
