A Personal Note from Sherri "Halloween & Day of the Dead are Here!"
Sherri Davis - Owner/Operator CozumelInsiderI’ve been AWOL ~ could ya tell??!!
And I guess I must admit that for my vacation I LEFT the island…imagine that…leaving paradise! But October is my birthday month so I felt compelled to celebrate a bit this year and goof off. I went home to Dallas to see family and friends then hit Vegas for a few days (no I didn’t win any money!). Then I focused on wrapping up a remodel job I have going on in between football parties with friends, the State Fair of Texas and Fall Festivals in my neighborhood. So needless to say, despite being a Vegas loser, I had an excellent birthday celebration this year!

And now….it’s here!
My favorite time of year!

The good news is that being in a foreign country for Halloween I never have to worry about a costume for the celebrations. I just put on my tennis shoes, a t-shirt and a ball cap and go as a “Gringa Tourista!” Although one year I did go to a party in one of those pull over black hoods where there is no face…just black mesh. I wore gloves, long sleeves and jeans too so no one recognized me at all! That was pretty cool....until I realized I couldn't eat or drink anything thru the mesh face! "made in cheena design forethought.

Then of course after all that trouble of "cover up" dressing, I had to reveal my identity just to get a beer! It's a good thing I wasn't sleuthing or under cover or anything important like that. It would have all been destroyed for the want of a beer. After pulling off the mask, some one did point out that I could have simply cut a hole in the mesh to make way for a beer...DUH...guess I was having a BLONDE moment then by not thinking of that in my desperation for a beer.

So I’m headed out on the town tonight to see what all is brewing in the cauldrons around town. Supposedly there are events downtown and in the QRoo Park over the next few days as Halloween and Day of the Dead approaches. it’s a warm 80F and a little humid what with the rain we had today but the moon keeps trying to break through the misty clouds adding just the right spooky touch to the night's ambiance!

And what will my costume be then on this Halloween Eve?
Can’t say ~ then everyone would know it’s me!
But suffice it to say ~ this time, it does have a beer hole! ;-)
Boooo to you, too!!

We just got back from Cozumel and the best thing we did was the Sea Turtle Release with FP&M. They were very educational and not just about the turtles. We were so excited to be able to hold the babies and set them free. Watching them bob their heads out of the water to breathe was quite a sight! Digging for them was enchanting, like finding buried treasure! Thanks to COZUMELINSIDER for helping us make this happen! Karen E. ~ Arroyo Grande, CA USA

I just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed our experience with the turtle salvation program this week. It was an amazing evening I will never forget. I will be sure to share the info with my local dive shops and SCUBA club when I return. I know that many others would love to participate and support the turtles. Thanks again and if you could pass along our appreciation to the biologists and other volunteers, we know it is all of your dedication that helps the turtles. J & D Lamb ~ Tucson, AZ

i've been on your site for the last week just checking everything out i'm telling you that you have the best site for learning about cozumel to all the execursions that are offered. also the information about how to get to the hotel from the airport with the cost about the ferry to every question that a person like myself would have that is planning on travelling to your beautiful country we are planning on retiring there. our family and myself will be arriving in Cancun and then going on to Cozumel. we will be staying at the reef and then park royal but i printed out coupons and all the info about the ferry, the ado bus and all the execursions we want to do . i'm lucky because i speak the language and i love to talk to people i would love to also get the pleasure of meeting with you which i'm sure i will since we plan on doing alot of your execursions. thank you for this beautiful site i enjoyed every minute i spend on it i look forward to hearing back from you! I must admit, booking our excursion through you and not the cruise ship was unsettling but once we got to your facility all of our doubts were gone. Your park and staff were first class, professional, friendly and even the dophins looked happy. Thank you for a truly once in a life time experience. Your quick response to my e-mails was also appreciated. I can assure you I will recommend your park to anyone that tells me they are going on a cruise. Thanks again. Hello, I will visit the island next weekend. I just want to thank you and your staff who make this website, because I´ve been checking a lot of websites, even those Trip Advisor, and yours has been much more useful to plan this trip. Specially because it has links to official websites from local beaches, tips about prices and ways to get somewhere. Good job! I´ll write again to tell you about the experience. C. Quijano (Feb. 2015) ~ Mexico
