A Personal Note from Sherri "Hot Hot Hot!!"
Sherri Davis - Owner/Operator CozumelInsiderSummer has come now to the island in full force and wow ~ is it ever hot down here! It’s that time of year when changing clothes 3 – 4 times daily is a must and even the most hard core barefoot fan finds that flip flops are a necessity to walk across the sand or a street.

And there is one other very important thing you should remember about summertime here: it’s when our chili peppers are the hottest! The table salsas are typically made the same way year-round so a salsa you may have tasted and slathered on your food in December or January because it was mild and flavorful can become a painful, liquid fire used sparingly by July.

So for those of you visiting Cozumel this summer, be prepared for hot sun, sand and salsa!

And here’s my best summer tip for you: ALWAYS have an ice cold Mexican cerveza in your hand while here. You can sip it to cool off, pour it on your burnt feet if you forget your flip flops or it can be chugged to peel away the “afterburn” of an excellent habanero salsa! Turns out beer is pretty handy stuff around here this time of year!

I just wanted to let you know that my family and I enjoyed the Cozumel Marine Turtle Observation opportunity immensely. The experience was everything we’d hoped it would be and more. It was truly magical watching green and loggerhead turtles coming in from the sea, digging holes, and laying their eggs. We will never forget this experience. Thank you Martin so much for your help in arranging it for us. R. Ashton (July 2015) ~ Bethesda, MD USA
