(10/28/2015) I loved staying here. The purpose of my three-week trip was to improve my Spanish and learn about Mexican culture. This was the perfect place to do it. IslaMar is in a decidedly non-tourist part of town, which means you're far more likely to glimpse the heart and soul of Mexico here than you would be at a beach resort. You'll also save a lot of money on food and rent. I felt quite safe exploring the neighborhood and making the 10-minute walk downtown. If you don't feel like walking, you can hail a cab and ride practically anywhere you want to go in town for under $5.

The owner, Sherri, and her assistant Martin answered all my questions before and during my trip. The on-site staff were beyond friendly, sweet, and helpful with my every need. I asked for a Spanish tutor; they researched candidates and found me a great one. She improved my skills a lot, for very little money, and she was a joy to know. I hope she and I will be friends for life.

The property itself was comfortable and well maintained, with high-quality finishes. I was able to cook well in the kitchenette. The staff will wash, dry, and fold a huge bag of laundry for a small fee, so it's easy to stay here for longer time periods despite packing light.

IslaMar will be my first choice for all future trips to Cozumel. C. Dooley ~ Dallas, TX USA

Stay (02/16/2013) - Sad to go… Thank you Zuri or everything! Your directions to all the things I needed, Spanish practice and friendship. I am extremely grateful. Miguel, thank you for waiting up to greet me. Sherri, thank you for the lovely place. The pool and courtyard, lovely apartment, the great neighbors, information regarding Carnival and map! And especially, my bicycle! I would definitely like to come back. Madeleine D. ~ Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

As always, it has been GREAT! I never know what to write in here! An observation - This is year 5 staying here at IslaMar (or is it 4 or 6?)! I look forward to staying here again next year. I hope my actions convey my positive feelings better than my words. Bob R. ~ Triadelphia, WV

(01/22/2015) - Our first time to Cozumel. We came for scuba certification, open water referral with Marine World. I highly recommend Javier, he’s the best! We found IslaMar Villas online through VRBO. Sherri made the reservation process very easy. Instructions were very clear! I then maintained a connection with Martin Holt, their sales/marketing guy. He’s my go to guy before I arrived here in Cozumel. We rented a car but once we learned the main roads, after a call to Sherri (thanks) we felt comfortable from then on. We then went to the “other side” where we found Punta Morena – it was nice. Visited Sherri and Mauricio’s place – it was BEAUTIFUL… We didn’t get to enjoy it as planned due to weather and we had other plans, but it was great. The diving was awesome as a newby. I will come back to Cozumel for sure! We had a pleasant experience at the IslaMar Villas and the staff very nice and quite helpful. La Casa Mission was GREAT! Thanks and Bless You All… D. & K. Biasiolli ~ Richmond, TX USA

Stay (01/22/2013) - Our stay in #3 Villa was very nice. So great to feel heat in January. Being from Richmond, Maine with temps in the zero’s or below, the heat is how do you say, “muy bueno”! Being here with our family was the icing on the “60th Birthday Cake”! Zuri is a gem and kept the villa in tip-top shape. So pleasant to come back to a clean bed, fresh towels in the banyo. Really beautiful Playa’s and crystal clear water. The neighborhood welcome was homey. All in all a great, wonderful vacation. Tim & Gloria M. ~ Richmond, MA
