PalMar Snorkel Beach Club & Patas y Alas Butterfly Sanctuary
Looking to avoid the mobs of the other big cruiser beaches and really relax on your next island visit? Then we invite you to join us and our staff at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club, located in the Dzul Ha Reef, for a nice, quiet and relaxing day in Cozumel. These days it seems like every beach club in Cozumel is so packed with tourists that visitors are often wanting and searching for a less crowded alternative. If you prefer a less chaotic and more personalized environment when visiting Cozumel, then our quiet and quaint PalMar Snorkel Beach Club will be the perfect spot for you and your group to come spend the day! We really are the "Best Kept Secret in Cozumel" that many taxis claim doesn't even exist!!!.
PalMar Snorkel Beach Club is located just a mile or so south of downtown San Miguel and is enclosed with walls, fences and gates on all sides. PalMar sits in front of a 10,000 square foot private beachside residence and provides a unique feeling of a more home-style experience. Inside our walls you will find a freshwater swimming pool (great for novice snorkelers to practice their snorkeling techniques) with jetted spa area, showers, rinse tanks, restrooms and lockers as well as snorkel equipment gear (mask, snorkel and fins) and vests for rent. Surrounding the pool and jetted spa (not heated) area is a large decked area with plenty of loungers, chairs and tables for your relaxation pleasure! The grounds inside feature both sunlit areas to soak up our "Caribbean Paradise" rays and also natural shady areas from the numerous trees for those needing to cool off from the sun..
You will also find our friendly and helpful staff ready to provide you and your group everything you need to make your stay at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club a wonderful experience. You will find a quaint snack bar area where you will be able to purchase tasty freshly made-to-order snacks (guacamole, pico de gallo, ceviche, quesadillas, etc.) and a nice selection of beverages (bottled water, soda, beer and a selection of tropical mixed drinks). Our staff is always more than happy to make you a tasty snack or whip up some liquid refreshment during your time here at PalMar Beach SNorkel Club!
PalMar's Beach and Ocean area is just a few steps outside our gates where you will see our beach area surrounded by a retaining wall filled with sand, palm trees, potted plants, loungers, tables and chairs for any guests that prefer a waterfront, beachside day in paradise There are no crazy jet skis buzzing around constantly nor massive water mountains to scale out front at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club. Instead, we invite you to enjoy a relaxing day lounging on our beach under our palm trees! If you want to snorkel and swim in our world famous Dzul Ha Reef, you will find an abundance of incredible coral reefs, colorful fish and marine life here at PalMar! The beach-entry is a few steps down from our beach area directly into the pristine waters of the Caribbean. Do not forget to bring your underwater camera to snap pics of your time underwater! Plus our dedicated staff will keep a watch out for you on the beach in order to keep the drinks and snacks coming as you need them!

(11/14/2018) - So this was our first trip ever to Cozumel and it was almost as good as advertised! We got to go in the off season so that made it nice also. Less traffic and less hectic. We took our taxi ride from the port to PalMar and expect to pay $10 for every 4 people in a taxi. Once we arrived it seemed very quiet but then the party started. The guys who take care of you all came out and made us feel at home. The beers were cold, the mango daiquiris the ladies said were on point (fresh mangos) and the food, WOW! Chicken tacos and nachos wonderful, but the Ceviche!!! Holy moly the guacamole is to die for!! And don’t forget to ask for the HOT sauce! Snorkeling was amazing in this spot as we saw so many different species of fish. The water was clear and the perfect temp! I can’t emphasize enough how great the guys were who took care of us! The private beach area was just big enough to keep us happy and feeling safe! I recommend them and I will go back! J. & A. Alvarez ~ Oatmeal, TX USA
A great perk for guests who stay at IslaMar Vacation Villas is access to the PalMar Beach Club. Beaches aren't great in Cozumel, but the snorkeling and diving are fantastic, even snorkeling from shore. So while there are a number of access locations to the water in the area, there are very few places that offer a sandy spot to sit with beach chairs and umbrellas. And the few that do exist are pretty crowded. That's where the PalMar beach club really shines. It's located about 6 or 7 km from the apartment, a nice and easy bike ride away and there's all the amenities you could want. Beverages and snacks across the road from the sandy beach front where tables, chairs and loungers are available, and then you can have a leisurely swim and snorkel right there. We've been snorkeling in several locations in the Caribbean, but nothing even comes close to this. I doubt you'd have a better experience on a boat excursion out to deeper waters. Sherri is a wonderful hostess, and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They were available to answer questions and help, yet we felt completely free and comfortable and never felt crowded or surveilled. Our experience was fantastic and a great alternative the usual hotel/resort/cruise ship arrangement. Penny & Guilio S. - March 2016 ~ Toronto, Ontario CAN
Another fantastic visit to the PalMar Snorkel Beach Club. The Beach Club is a real bargain and includes use of the private pool, touring the Butterfly Sanctuary, and using the beach area on the world-famous reef (Bart and Tiff had a great time snorkeling and were delighted to see many colorful fish near the reef). Day use tickets even include 2 free drinks. The food is excellent as we enjoyed guacamole, ceviche, and chicken enchiladas, all terrific examples of great local food (I believe I ate my weight in ceviche and guacamole). Best of all is the sweet service offered by the employees! Iit’s a perfect balance of the staff being humble and grateful for the income we generate, and us being grateful and humbled by the beautiful surroundings and the grace of the local folks. I so enjoyed our visit! We're thinking about checking out the IslaMar Vacation Villas next. V. Hallenbeck - November 2017 ~ Winston-Salem, NC USA
We were there early Feb 2017... The best snorkeling I have experienced! ... and a great place to do it! Private, clean, comfortable with great service. My girlfriend and I spent the day and we had the place to ourselves. We hopped in a taxi at the ferry and had no troubles getting there or back (130pesos each way). We have recommended to several people now ... hoping our friends we met from Sweden made it there ... if so we would love to connect again but do not have your contact info ... if you read this please email us :) We had a chance to visit with Sherri while there ... very pleasant lady. Highly recommended! D. Bint - February 2017 ~ Simcoe, Ontario CAN
I am from Quebec and we reserved thru this website. We spent a day there during a cruise stop to Cozumel in March 2016. Taxi ride was short, not expensive and not complicated (if you follow Web instructions) and our experience of PalMar and it's staff was fantastic (no risk, you can trust them). Everything was exactly as written in the Web (including great meal). Water of the pool was warm and clean. For snorkeling, it was the best experience of my life (and I visited full of places in the world whose Turquoise Islands, St. Martin, Cuba, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, St. John, Culebra in Puerto Rico and elsewhere in Mexico) all just a few feet distance from the beach! Go there without hesitation!!! We met owner (Sherri) who was very welcoming. I would visit there again without hesitation. E. Levesque - March 2016 ~ Laval, Quebec, CAN
