Cozumel is well known world wide for our snorkeling and there are many snorkeling beach clubs on both sides of the island. But without a doubt, one (1) of the island's most beautiful, ocean-side estates is Cozumel's PalMar Snorkel Beach Club where guests are invited to spend an unforgettable day inside their lush, tropical oasis beside the freshwater pool. What makes our experience special is we are small, quiet and peaceful. It is not a massive tourist beach with hundreds of guests. When you are ready for a change of scenery from the beach club area, just take a short stroll outside the fenced and gated estate area to their private PalMar beach where you can lounge on beach chairs or walk down into the stunning Caribbean waters and experience some of the best snorkeling available in the Dzul Ha Reef area!
The management and staff at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club in Cozumel hope you will visit and spend a relaxing and peaceful day at our beach club. Be it spent poolside basking in the warm rays of the sun or venturing over to the beach where you can discover the many underwater secrets of the Caribbean by stepping into the crystal-clear turquoise waters where you can literally spend hours gazing at the colorful corals, sponges and vast variety of fish and marine life! Directions to PalMar Snorkel Beach Club
By Taxi:
PalMar Snorkel Beach Club is located just south of ALL cruise ship piers between Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel Resort & Spa and Fiesta Americana Hotel - a very short 5-10 minute ride via taxi.
It will cost US $9.00 to $11.00 per four (4) persons via taxi.
Ask the taxi driver take you to the Dzul Ha Reef beach area.
TAXIs do not want you to know about Palmar because they do not receive taxi kickbacks for delivery of guests at this location. Prices are lower for guests at this beach club for this reason!
By Rental Car:
PalMar is located south of town and past all cruise ship piers.
On the NEW main highway there is an overhead sign pointing the way to the OLD highway.
The overhead sign says "Chankanaab, Dzul Ha and Fiesta Americana Hotels".
Exit the NEW main highway to the right just where this overhead sign is and get onto the OLD highway.
You will pass the Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel Resort & Spa and go another half mile or so to the Dzul Ha Reef beach area.
If you pass the condos on your left or the Fiesta Americana Hotel, you just missed us!
Once there, you will see a "YELLOW" sign that says "PALMAR SNORKEL BEACH CLUB ~ NOW OPEN!"
You can't miss it!! I hope to see you there! - Sherri
I am from Quebec and we reserved thru this website. We spent a day there during a cruise stop to Cozumel in March 2016. Taxi ride was short, not expensive and not complicated (if you follow Web instructions) and our experience of PalMar and it's staff was fantastic (no risk, you can trust them). Everything was exactly as written in the Web (including great meal). Water of the pool was warm and clean. For snorkeling, it was the best experience of my life (and I visited full of places in the world whose Turquoise Islands, St. Martin, Cuba, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, St. John, Culebra in Puerto Rico and elsewhere in Mexico) all just a few feet distance from the beach! Go there without hesitation!!! We met owner (Sherri) who was very welcoming. I would visit there again without hesitation. E. Levesque - March 2016 ~ Laval, Quebec, CAN
Sherri, We had the most wonderful time with you in May! You and your staff made our weekend there in Cozumel with your great hospitality. The grounds are beautiful, food was great and the snorkeling ~ well my group just could not get enough and were amazed by the tropical sealife there off your beach. We look so much forward to coming back and seeing you again very soon. Tell the staff thanks again and say hello to the family for us as well. Take care:0) ....Happy Cruise Passenger J. (01/29/2019) - We are staying in Playa del Carmen for 6 weeks. We really wanted to do some snorkeling and although the options in Playa are numerous, they were not always economical. After doing a lot of research, I found the website, Cozumelinsider.com (a great information source by the way) and found out about PalMar. We were really happy we found it. A smaller beach club, nothing pretentious, but great service, snorkeling and food. A great day. The day we were there, there were a few Mexican families enjoying the spot. It was nice to be among locals and not just tourists. For the price, this really is a special gem. The $14 US per person includes 2 beer/beverage, towels, beach chairs, beach service, swimming pool, showers, lockers and several other things that we didn’t use. The snorkeling was great. It was interesting seeing all of the charter boats bringing people to the exact same spot we were and I am sure they spent more than $14 US to snorkel in the same place as we were. It really is with mixed emotions that I write this review as I don’t want people to find out about it as they limit the daily amount of people that can book here due to space and enjoyment, if it gets too popular, there won’t be space for us next time. We still have 3.5 more weeks in the Mayan area and we will definitely be visiting PalMar again. Thanks for the great day. We will see you soon. Cheers. L. MacLeod & G. When we found PalMar on Google Maps, we were very skeptical but the communications were exceptional. You do have to reserve a spot as they require a reservation to limit overcrowding. We were there February, 12, 2018 as part of our Carnival Cruise on the Glory. My girlfriend and I LOVED it. I wasn't going to leave a review because I didn't want everyone learning about the "gem" we found, but PalMar deserves a great review.
We were greeted by friendly staff who were very helpful getting us set up. Really glad we found you. Love the fact that you have lockers, showers, life vests and there were no crowds. Also like the fact you require a reservation to limit overcrowding! We really felt safe there. The snorkeling was the best I've ever seen and I've been to Jamaica, Virgin Islands, Cayman. There is an area for snorkeling that is roped off for safety from boats yet I could get out deep enough to be blown away by the scenery. We saw Squid, Blow Fish, Flounder and lots of Sergeant Major fish. See my video below. The experience was great! We will be coming back! R. & C. Jarvis (February 2018) ~ Picton, Ontario CAN
