This tiny little jewel of a place made our trip to Cozumel so memorable and is perfect for a cruise ship passenger. It is a quick and inexpensive taxi-ride from either port used by the cruise ships (10 minutes or less). The stately well-maintained estate, grounds, and pool are gorgeous. Just a few steps away, across the street is the private beach owned by PalMar right on the Dzul Ha reef area. I'm not a diver, but even with just my goggles, I saw dozens of fish within just a few feet of the beach. We booked this an affordable excursion and we got so much more than we expected! We arrived early and sat on the private beach reading and enjoying the view. Very soon, the caretaker came over to invite us in, even though we were early. This sweet gesture typified the excellent service we received throughout our stay.
The entry fee included two drink coupons and we enjoyed diet sodas with a meal of chicken quesadillas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and chips. The fare was simple (as the best food always is) and excellent. We also ordered tasty frozen cocktails (mango margarita and piña colada), and we definitely felt like "spoiled girls" as we swam, relaxed, and enjoyed delicious food with a view of the ocean.
When it was time for us to go, one of the employees hailed a taxi for us and getting back to the cruise port was quick and easy. I am delighted to give the PalMar Small Beach Club five stars for excellent service and a lovely facility. V. Hallenbeck - October 2015 ~ Winston-Salem, NC USA
Hi Sherri, I'm putting together our scrapbook from our vacation and wanted to thank you again for your hospitality at PalMar Estate Beach Club! We had a great time at your place in Cozumel. It was nice to have such a wonderful place to go while we were in a place that we had never been to before! I have been giving a lot of people at work your info since I know quite a few of them visit that area for vacations. Thanks so much! The Taylors ~ Portland, OR USA
We had a great time. The folks we brought were extremely pleased as well. I think you may have a couple more customers in the future. R. & W. Jennings (March 2016) ~ Marlin, TX USA
My family and I (my husband and two boys, ages 9 and 6) were on a Disney cruise last week. During our stop over in Cozumel we spent a few hours at PalMar Beach Club. I had booked it beforehand with lots of help from Martin. I followed his instructions and arrived at PalMar without any trouble at all, for a $10 taxi fair. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate with us, with it being a drizzly, cloudy, windy day. We had planned on snorkeling but the water was too rough. We relaxed by the pool and had some delicious snacks and drinks. It was very quiet and definitely away from the congested tourist areas and cruise crowd. The staff at PalMar were very, very friendly. The beach area was very nice and looked like it would have been a fantastic place to spend a nice sunny day. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to spend a quiet relaxing day in Cozumel. If we are back in the area we will visit again. Thank you for your hospitality! A great perk for guests who stay at IslaMar Vacation Villas is access to the PalMar Beach Club. Beaches aren't great in Cozumel, but the snorkeling and diving are fantastic, even snorkeling from shore. So while there are a number of access locations to the water in the area, there are very few places that offer a sandy spot to sit with beach chairs and umbrellas. And the few that do exist are pretty crowded. That's where the PalMar beach club really shines. It's located about 6 or 7 km from the apartment, a nice and easy bike ride away and there's all the amenities you could want. Beverages and snacks across the road from the sandy beach front where tables, chairs and loungers are available, and then you can have a leisurely swim and snorkel right there. We've been snorkeling in several locations in the Caribbean, but nothing even comes close to this. I doubt you'd have a better experience on a boat excursion out to deeper waters. Sherri is a wonderful hostess, and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They were available to answer questions and help, yet we felt completely free and comfortable and never felt crowded or surveilled. Our experience was fantastic and a great alternative the usual hotel/resort/cruise ship arrangement. Penny & Guilio S. (March 2016) ~ Toronto, ON CAN
