(08/09/2014) - Found IslaMar on VRBO while looking for a place to stay for 3 weeks. Was very pleased to find the property was just as advertised. The staff was waiting for me on my arrival at the front door. The pool area is incredible and I enjoyed it very much during my time there. Hummingbirds frequently seen, and there is a local bakery close by, so the smell of fretted baked bread was often tempting me while at the pool. Sherri gave me the one bedroom condo upstairs and it again, was just as advertised. I found everything I needed and including the small touches such as the hammock. The apartment was immaculate! If there was anything missing, Zuri was there to help.

This is living "local style" which is what I was looking for, away from the tourist areas. I spent time walking about the area and did not have any problems whatsoever. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main tourist area. Taxis, if needed, are plentiful, affordable, and reliable. There are small, local places to eat close to IslaMar where the food is very good, and affordable. Sherri has a helpful guide book detailing all the good restaurants broken down by location and price. I was very pleased with the choice of Cozumel and IslaMar. Sherri, I will be back ! (02/07/2015) - We rented a one bedroom for 2 weeks. It was our first time in Mexico and Sherri and her staff were great to work with. The property is ideally located in the middle of town. We often walked to eat and shop and had rented a car which took us to many great dive sites. We really enjoyed when all the others staying there would often get together for a drink and to talk about our days adventures. All the people there gave great advice and we met many great people that we had a lot in common with. Most were long term residents. We would recommend this to couples going to Cozumel. Stay (03/08/2012) - This was our first time to Cozumel and IslaMar Villas is excellent! Wonderful accommodations with everything necessary. It is so well located to so many fantastic eating locations and far enough away from the craziness of downtown. The staff was excellent Miguel and Zuri took care of everything we needed. The area is so beautiful. Just wish we had more time. We will definitely be back. Hopefully sooner than later. Thanks for everything and making our first time in Cozumel so memorable. Gracias Jeremy & Meghan M. ~ Indianapolis, IN

Sherri, my boss wants you to take down your webcam! It seems it is preventing me from getting any work done! I just stare at it all day. haha I will be there in two weeks. It's been since March since we spent a week there and I'm going through withdrawals. I hope Mezcalitos has the 'ritas ready for me. Jennifer ~ Louisiana

(01/02/2016) - IslaMar is a great place set back from the beachfront and big resorts. It is living in Mexico, if you get my drift. IslaMar is back perhaps 6 or 7 blocks from the resorts. We wanted something different this time. I loved being back with the local vibe. There are restaurants with amazing food back here. You walk to them. We walked at night through the narrow streets and visited with the friendly people. We felt safe. I'm not telling you what to do, I'm just telling you what we did. We also rented a small car and went to the beach every day. We found our dollars went a long ways in the grocery store. No place is too far away on Cozumel. Christmas Night we wandered into a park with an amphitheater. There was a clown performing. There were perhaps 200 locals there and we saw one other gringo. I loved being there and watching these beautiful people. They all seemed glad to see us. Is it for everybody? Probly not. There is a nice little clean pool, but nobody is going to bring you a margarita. If you have a hankering for fries at midnight, not going to happen. If you are set on a resort, this is not your place. But If you want to stay in a beautiful affordable villa with super cleaning and other services and run by great folks in the middle of town, you should try this. I love it and can't wait to go back!
