Stay (01/22/2013) - Our stay in #3 Villa was very nice. So great to feel heat in January. Being from Richmond, Maine with temps in the zero’s or below, the heat is how do you say, “muy bueno”! Being here with our family was the icing on the “60th Birthday Cake”! Zuri is a gem and kept the villa in tip-top shape. So pleasant to come back to a clean bed, fresh towels in the banyo. Really beautiful Playa’s and crystal clear water. The neighborhood welcome was homey. All in all a great, wonderful vacation. Tim & Gloria M. ~ Richmond, MA

Sherri, I did receive both email confirmations. Thank you again for your great customer support and service in getting these activities scheduled for me. I will recommend your site to all of my friends who visit the island. Thanks again!! A. Washburn ~ Not Given

(02/07/2015) - We rented a one bedroom for 2 weeks. It was our first time in Mexico and Sherri and her staff were great to work with. The property is ideally located in the middle of town. We often walked to eat and shop and had rented a car which took us to many great dive sites. We really enjoyed when all the others staying there would often get together for a drink and to talk about our days adventures. All the people there gave great advice and we met many great people that we had a lot in common with. Most were long term residents. We would recommend this to couples going to Cozumel. (10/28/2015) I loved staying here. The purpose of my three-week trip was to improve my Spanish and learn about Mexican culture. This was the perfect place to do it. IslaMar is in a decidedly non-tourist part of town, which means you're far more likely to glimpse the heart and soul of Mexico here than you would be at a beach resort. You'll also save a lot of money on food and rent. I felt quite safe exploring the neighborhood and making the 10-minute walk downtown. If you don't feel like walking, you can hail a cab and ride practically anywhere you want to go in town for under $5.

The owner, Sherri, and her assistant Martin answered all my questions before and during my trip. The on-site staff were beyond friendly, sweet, and helpful with my every need. I asked for a Spanish tutor; they researched candidates and found me a great one. She improved my skills a lot, for very little money, and she was a joy to know. I hope she and I will be friends for life.

The property itself was comfortable and well maintained, with high-quality finishes. I was able to cook well in the kitchenette. The staff will wash, dry, and fold a huge bag of laundry for a small fee, so it's easy to stay here for longer time periods despite packing light.

IslaMar will be my first choice for all future trips to Cozumel. C. Dooley ~ Dallas, TX USA

(01/02/2016) - IslaMar is a great place set back from the beachfront and big resorts. It is living in Mexico, if you get my drift. IslaMar is back perhaps 6 or 7 blocks from the resorts. We wanted something different this time. I loved being back with the local vibe. There are restaurants with amazing food back here. You walk to them. We walked at night through the narrow streets and visited with the friendly people. We felt safe. I'm not telling you what to do, I'm just telling you what we did. We also rented a small car and went to the beach every day. We found our dollars went a long ways in the grocery store. No place is too far away on Cozumel. Christmas Night we wandered into a park with an amphitheater. There was a clown performing. There were perhaps 200 locals there and we saw one other gringo. I loved being there and watching these beautiful people. They all seemed glad to see us. Is it for everybody? Probly not. There is a nice little clean pool, but nobody is going to bring you a margarita. If you have a hankering for fries at midnight, not going to happen. If you are set on a resort, this is not your place. But If you want to stay in a beautiful affordable villa with super cleaning and other services and run by great folks in the middle of town, you should try this. I love it and can't wait to go back!
