Cozumel is well known world wide for our snorkeling and there are many snorkeling beach clubs on both sides of the island. But without a doubt, one (1) of the island's most beautiful, ocean-side estates is Cozumel's PalMar Snorkel Beach Club where guests are invited to spend an unforgettable day inside their lush, tropical oasis beside the freshwater pool. What makes our experience special is we are small, quiet and peaceful. It is not a massive tourist beach with hundreds of guests. When you are ready for a change of scenery from the beach club area, just take a short stroll outside the fenced and gated estate area to their private PalMar beach where you can lounge on beach chairs or walk down into the stunning Caribbean waters and experience some of the best snorkeling available in the Dzul Ha Reef area!
The management and staff at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club in Cozumel hope you will visit and spend a relaxing and peaceful day at our beach club. Be it spent poolside basking in the warm rays of the sun or venturing over to the beach where you can discover the many underwater secrets of the Caribbean by stepping into the crystal-clear turquoise waters where you can literally spend hours gazing at the colorful corals, sponges and vast variety of fish and marine life! Directions to PalMar Snorkel Beach Club
By Taxi:
PalMar Snorkel Beach Club is located just south of ALL cruise ship piers between Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel Resort & Spa and Fiesta Americana Hotel - a very short 5-10 minute ride via taxi.
It will cost US $9.00 to $11.00 per four (4) persons via taxi.
Ask the taxi driver take you to the Dzul Ha Reef beach area.
TAXIs do not want you to know about Palmar because they do not receive taxi kickbacks for delivery of guests at this location. Prices are lower for guests at this beach club for this reason!
By Rental Car:
PalMar is located south of town and past all cruise ship piers.
On the NEW main highway there is an overhead sign pointing the way to the OLD highway.
The overhead sign says "Chankanaab, Dzul Ha and Fiesta Americana Hotels".
Exit the NEW main highway to the right just where this overhead sign is and get onto the OLD highway.
You will pass the Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel Resort & Spa and go another half mile or so to the Dzul Ha Reef beach area.
If you pass the condos on your left or the Fiesta Americana Hotel, you just missed us!
Once there, you will see a "YELLOW" sign that says "PALMAR SNORKEL BEACH CLUB ~ NOW OPEN!"
You can't miss it!! I hope to see you there! - Sherri
Enjoyed the beach club very much, a welcome retreat from the crowded ship. We were impressed with the very friendly staff and will return with friends next time in Cozumel. L. & V. Porter - December 2017 ~ Waterloo, SC USA
I visited PalMar Snorkel Beach Club in 2015 and was so impressed with the beauty of the grounds and the hospitality of the employees - I'm planning to return with my family (husband, daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren) in July of 2018! Can hardly wait to see the butterfly sanctuary and enjoy the excellent food! D. Bodenheimer - November 2017 ~ Denver, NC USA
(01/29/2019) - We are staying in Playa del Carmen for 6 weeks. We really wanted to do some snorkeling and although the options in Playa are numerous, they were not always economical. After doing a lot of research, I found the website, Cozumelinsider.com (a great information source by the way) and found out about PalMar. We were really happy we found it. A smaller beach club, nothing pretentious, but great service, snorkeling and food. A great day. The day we were there, there were a few Mexican families enjoying the spot. It was nice to be among locals and not just tourists. For the price, this really is a special gem. The $14 US per person includes 2 beer/beverage, towels, beach chairs, beach service, swimming pool, showers, lockers and several other things that we didn’t use. The snorkeling was great. It was interesting seeing all of the charter boats bringing people to the exact same spot we were and I am sure they spent more than $14 US to snorkel in the same place as we were. It really is with mixed emotions that I write this review as I don’t want people to find out about it as they limit the daily amount of people that can book here due to space and enjoyment, if it gets too popular, there won’t be space for us next time. We still have 3.5 more weeks in the Mayan area and we will definitely be visiting PalMar again. Thanks for the great day. We will see you soon. Cheers. L. MacLeod & G. Neufield ~ Kelowna, British Columbia, CAN
Had a great experience at PalMar! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They pointed out the best place to enter the sea as it has a very rocky shore. Snorkeling was nice for Mexico. The location is the same as the snorkel tours. The tour boats drop people way off shore but they only stay about 30 minutes. At PalMar you have a nice, quiet beach with loungers and shade to enjoy all day. We didn't use the pool. It looked nice and the surrounding garden is very pretty. I would go there again! G. Vogel - May 2016 ~ San Diego, CA USA
Sherri - Thank you so much for allowing us to use the Palmar Small Beach club. The staff were fantastic. They took very good care of us. The fresh pico was perfect. The grounds were very clean and beautiful. And no hassling salesmen anywhere. We plan on coming there again on our next visit to Cozumel. Thanks again - The Hamiltons G. & A.
