Museo de la Isla de Cozumel

The Cozumel Museum provides both visitors and locals alike with a fascinating look at Cozumel's history and natural resources. Four main galleries cover the geology, reef system and sea life, the island's Mayan history and pirate past, and the history of the founders of the Cozumel we know today. Don't miss the "Casita Maya" exhibit that enlightens visitors on the customs and home life of the early Mayans. Upstairs from the lobby is a gallery area (admission is free) that often showcases the works of local artists.
