As most travelers know, organized tours can really eat into a travel budget and typically there will be 10+ other travelers in a tour group so excursion itineraries are relatively structured and pre-planned. However, these organized tours are great fun and real adventures for less experienced travelers or those not familiar with Cozumel. But as more seasoned travelers know, sometimes it's just be nice to experience the island without spending a bunch of money or having every minute planned. It's also great to just get away from the crowds at times, too.
While Cozumel Insider always recommends planned excursions for those not familiar with Cozumel, we also recognize that frequent visitors to the island are eager to get off on their own and "wing it" a bit. Hello, I want to let you know that I visit your website all the time! I love it, so much information. I used you as a resource when I came to Cozumel for the first time about 2 years ago. Although my soon-to-be wife was there before, I needed to do some of my own homework. As for her, she and I will be getting married on June 22 at Hotel Cozumel and we are both really excited about it. Hello Sherri ~ I met you back in 2001 (12 years ago!) when my husband and I along with another couple were involved in a wreck and you were behind us and helped us out as to our rights in the matter. A motorcycle ran into the side of us pretty bad if you recall. I believe you said you lived in Addison, Texas like us. I have booked a trip and will be in Cozumel next Tuesday. Any recommendation on vehicle rental you can suggest for me? LATER: My date and I had a blast in Cozumel. He loved the island. It was a very short trip. I am including a photo of us on the cruise. I just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed our experience with the turtle salvation program this week. It was an amazing evening I will never forget. I will be sure to share the info with my local dive shops and SCUBA club when I return. I know that many others would love to participate and support the turtles.
