 We are proud to say that Cozumel Insider was the FIRST Cozumel website to publish an extensive gallery of Cozumel Carnaval photos as well as an accurate Calendar of Events for Carnaval in advance so as to allow more travelers the chance to plan to be here in Cozumel for the festivities.

Since the Cozumel Carnaval Photo Gallery began in 2003, we've sure had a lot of fun, met alot of new island visitors and made tons of memories to last a lifetime! Since as early as 1874 Cozumel has had a Carnaval tradition and generations later, the island still celebrates Carnaval as one of its oldest community rituals. But surely nothing of Carnaval would have survived these 140+ years had the traditions not been passed along and incorporated into “normal” island life among young and old.
Each year the Cozumel Carnaval Kid’s King and Queen competition gives us a glimpse ahead of Carnavals yet to come as these young participants hone their skills and develop their own style of traditions that will ultimate carry Cozumel Carnaval forward for decades to come. All of the comparsa participants as well as the candidates themselves showed incredible exuberance and excitement as well as amazing talent for such young ages which a testament to the many Cozumel Carnavalero families on the island that help keep the Carnaval traditions alive.
It was a night to be remembered as all four candidates put on a spectacular show: Edward, Axel, Niza and Alondra. When the votes were tallied, it was Axel and Alondra who prevailed as Kid’s King and Queen of Carnaval 2013 with Edward and Niza winning Kid’s King and Queen of Alegria. But In the end there is no question they are ALL winners and will help keep the Cozumel Carnaval traditions alive for years to come!
