Legalize US Vehicles in Mexico |
|
Let us help you permanently legalize your US purchased and plated car or truck to drive in Mexico! We make it simple and hassle free for you!
Have you had a foreign vehicle in Mexico for many years but never bothered to legalize it? Or did you bring a car to Mexico a few years ago but now the Customs sticker is expired and you're not sure what to do??
Stop Worrying! WE CAN HELP YOU!! We know how to resolve virtually ALL vehicle related issues in order to get your foreign car or truck legal to drive again in Mexico!
Americans or Canadians who travel extensively throughout Mexico on tourist visas know the process of TEMPORARILY legalizing a foreign car to drive in the country as they cross the border into Mexico. This process allows foreign plated vehicles to legally drive the roads of Mexico sometimes for up to 6 months. For travellers and short term visitors who travel across the border frequently this process is relatively simple and works very well.
However, Americans and Canadians who elect to live part time in Mexico and want to bring their US vehicle with them have other options to consider. Some elect to simply bring their vehicles in and get the short term sticker from Customs at the border knowing they will be returning to the US and taking the auto out of Mexico before the Customs sticker expires. But for those who want to stay longer in Mexico than the temporary or short term Customs vehicle sticker allows or for those who want to bring an auto into Mexico and leave it to be used long term, a regular trip to the nearest Customs office is required in order to keep the vehicle legal over the long term.
In past times, simply finding a Mexican Customs office nearby could be near impossible and then for years the laws concerning foreigners and their vehicles was rather discombobulated so many foreign residents simply let their Customs permit stickers expire and decided to "take their chances" driving the car. Do yourself a favor and don't let this happen to you! Expired temporary importation stickers are where time consuming, costly problems begin with autos in Mexico.
What happens if you are driving your car with an expired Customs sticker and get caught? Without question your vehicle will be seized right then and there and a lengthy and costly recovery process will follow. And with new fines and penalties being imposed now, often owners elect to simply forfeit their cars which then begins yet ANOTHER costly, lengthy administrative process entirely before one can import a subsequent car at all.
While the laws, regulations and requirements for foreigners and their cars have become clearer over the years, just the sheer logistics of getting a vehicle to the nearest Customs office can often be a hassle ~ especially in Quintana Roo and other States with few or no Customs offices to handle vehicle matters.
For those wanting to leave a car in Cozumel particularly, this regular trip to the mainland to renew the vehicle sticker can get to be a hassle. Since Customs is required to visually inspect the vehicle, those living and leaving a car in Cozumel have to get their autos over to the mainland via ferry along with all the paperwork, find the nearest Customs office in the appropriate city and keep the Customs sticker renewed.
Are you tired of taking your US car or truck to the mainland to renew the importation sticker to stay legal on the roads of Cozumel, Quintanto Roo and/or Mexico in general?
Why not save the hassle and just legalize that foreign auto for permanent use in Mexico?
We know the process and procedures and can do it for you faster than you can imagine! Plus we have drivers available throughout the U.S. and Mexico to facilitate the logistics of moving vehicles to nearby customs offices for the purpose of legalization. Just complete the basic information below concerning the auto you would like to legalize in Mexico and we can provide you a quote in no time!
Considering the new import fees and costs involved in importation these days, it often makes more sense to simply purchase a car in Mexico now. Back in the day, the resale car market was very limited and it was difficult to locate a decent used car for a reasonable price. But this is not the case at all now ~ used cars are readily available for purchase although it's critical to verify the chain of ownership/purchase before buying. So take an adventure and do some bargain hunting before considering to embark on the importation process! |

Sherri ~ WOW!!! We just returned from our cruise! What a wonderful time we had!! Your COZUMELINSIDER.com bookings for our Dolphin snorkel adventure and Sea Trek were the highlight of the cruise. They were easy and saved us about half the cost of booking through the cruise line. We simply hopped into a cab and spent the day at the Park (we could have spent a week there.) They were even able to work us into the Sea Trek early. All the people were friendly, helpful and overall just treated us great. While we were standing around waiting a short little man came up and ask if we wanted a snorkel tour. I instantly remembered what you had said and looked at his name tag. It was Mario! His tour was fantastic! If you see him ask him if he remembers Se or Ed and his family (he never caught that my name was Ted, but that's okay!) I had a waterproof digital camera and he snapped lots of pictures of us. We had a wonderful time and much of it was thanks to you, your website and staff!
I know you probably get lots of pictures but I had to send you three. Look at the smiles on my boy's faces. That says it all! Thank you so much for all your help and advice. We can't wait to return. Your website is the first place we will stop! I wish we could have met in person. We will next time! T. Mahler Family ~ Howe ,TX

I just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed our experience with the turtle salvation program this week. It was an amazing evening I will never forget. I will be sure to share the info with my local dive shops and SCUBA club when I return. I know that many others would love to participate and support the turtles. Thanks again and if you could pass along our appreciation to the biologists and other volunteers, we know it is all of your dedication that helps the turtles. J & D Lamb ~ Tucson, AZ

We will be leaving tommorrow for 2 week stay at Islamar villas and diving with Dive Paradise. All of this along with a car rental was booked through you guys. Not only did you have a professional attitude through all the e-mails in booking the original dates but at the last minute I extended my stay. You and your staff were especially kind through all of this. You got the car extended and went way out of your way to make sure everything was taken care of, not to mention letting me borrow your personal roller bag to go to the market. You extended everything with ease and you are a great asset to Cozumel and Mexico. This will be my 12 th trip and I will never work with anyone else from now on. Thank you Sherri. Jack J.
